HH The Amir, German Chancellor Discuss Gulf Crisis and Joint Cooperation
His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and HE German Chancellor Dr Angela Merkel discussed in a meeting the regional and international developments, especially efforts being made to contain and resolve the Gulf crisis through dialogue and diplomatic means as well as through the mediation of the State of Kuwait.
The meeting, which was held at the Federal Chancellery today, discussed the situation in the Middle East, especially in Syria, Yemen and Libya, in addition to the joint efforts of the two countries in the fight against terrorism and extremism, and to eliminate this phenomenon that threatens the security of the world, within the framework of regional and international efforts to combat all its forms and sources of funding.
It also reviewed the strategic relations between the two friendly countries and the prospects of enhancing them in various fields to achieve the aspirations of the two countries. In this regard, the two sides discussed aspects of joint cooperation and ways of developing them in the fields of economy, investment, energy, industry and others.
The meeting was attended by Their Excellencies members of the official delegation accompanying HH The Amir, while was attended from German side by a number of Their Excellencies ministers and senior officials.
