HH The Amir and Colombia's President Hold Official Talks Session

His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani held a session of official talks at his office in the Lusail Palace today with HE President of the Republic of Colombia Gustavo Petro.

At the outset of the session, HH The Amir welcomed HE the President and the accompanying delegation, wishing them a pleasant stay.

HH The Amir stressed the significance of the relationship between the two countries, hoping that the visit will push the bilateral cooperation toward broader horizons to achieve the aspirations and interests of the two peoples, wishing the Qatari-Colombian relations more development and growth.

In turn, HE the President of the Republic of Colombia voiced his thanks and appreciation to HH The Amir for the warm reception and hospitality, expressing his keenness to promote cooperation and development relations between the two countries and push them toward broader horizons across various fields.

During the session, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to support and strengthen them across various fields, especially in economic, investment, and energy fields.

In addition, they discussed a number of regional and international topics of common concern.

The session was attended by HE Chief of the Amiri Diwan, Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi; HE Minister of State for Energy Affairs, Eng. Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi; HE Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai; HE Minister of Commerce and Industry, Sheikh Faisal bin Thani Al-Thani; HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi; and a number of senior officials.

On Colombia's side, the session was attended by HE Minister of Foreign Affairs, Laura Sarabia; HE Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Luis Carlos Reyes Hernandez; HE Minister of Mines and Energy, Andres Camacho Morales; HE Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Yesenia Olaya Requene; and a number of members of the official delegation accompanying HE the President.

Earlier, HH The Amir and the President of the Republic of Colombia held a bilateral meeting, where they discussed cooperation relations between the two countries and ways to develop and advance them.

HH The Amir hosted a luncheon banquet in honor of HE the President of the Republic of Colombia and his accompanying delegation.
