HH The Amir, German Chancellor Hold Official Talks Session

His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and HE Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Olaf Scholz held an official talks session at the Amiri Diwan on Sunday afternoon.

At the outset of the session, HH The Amir welcomed HE the German Chancellor and the accompanying delegation, wishing that this visit would contribute to strengthening relations between the two countries to broader horizons at various levels, especially economic and investment.

For his part, HE the German Chancellor expressed his thanks to HH The Amir for the warm reception and hospitality, looking forward to strengthening the relations of cooperation between the two countries to achieve common aspirations and develop them in various fields.

During the session, they discussed aspects of supporting and strengthening strategic relations between the two friendly countries in various fields of partnership, especially in the economy, investment, energy, military cooperation, culture and sports, in addition to reviewing the most prominent regional and international issues and developments.

The session was also attended by HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, HE Chief of Amiri Diwan Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, HE Minister of State for Energy Affairs Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, HE Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani, and a number of senior officials.

On the German side, HE Secretary of State and the Federal Government Spokesperson Steffen Hebestreit, HE Secretary of State Dr. Jorg Kukies, and a number of members of the accompanying official delegation attended the session.

HH The Amir and HE the German Chancellor held a bilateral meeting, during which they exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common concern, particularly the developments of the Ukraine crisis and its repercussions on security and peace in the world.

HE the German Chancellor was accorded an official reception ceremony upon arrival at the Amiri Diwan.
