HH The Amir Hold Talks Session with Prime Minister of Iraq
His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and HE Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq Adil Abdul Mahdi held on Wednesday an official talks session at the Amiri Diwan.
The talks reviewed bilateral relations and the means to enhance them, particularly in economy, commerce, energy, culture, education, and scientific research.
The two sides also discussed the latest regional and international developments, particularly the developments in the region.
Following the session, HH The Amir and HE the Prime Minister witnessed the signing of the second executive programme for a Memorandum of Understanding for cultural and scientific cooperation between the government of the State of Qatar and the Government of the Republic of Iraq in the field of higher education and scientific research for the academic years 2019/2020, 2020/2021, and 2021/2022.
They also witnessed the signing of the third executive programme for a Memorandum of Understanding for cultural and scientific cooperation between the government of the State of Qatar and the Government of the Republic of Iraq in the field of education for the academic years 2019/2020, 2020/2021, and 2021/2022.
The talks session and the signing ceremony was attended by HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, in addition to a number of their Excellencies ministers.
From the Iraqi side, it was attended by members of the official delegation accompanying HE the Prime Minister.
HE Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi arrived in the Amiri Diwan earlier today, were he was accorded an official reception ceremony.
