HH The Amir Issues Decision Reconstituting National Human Rights Committee

His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani issued today the Amiri Decision No 19 of 2019 on the reconstitution of the National Human Rights Committee.

The decision stipulated that the National Human Rights Committee shall be reconstituted as follows:

1- Dr Ali Saeed Smaikh Al Marri representative of civil society
2- Dr Mohammed Saif Al Kuwari representative of civil society
3- Dr Yousef Mohammed Al Obaidan representative of civil society
4- Dr Asma Abdullah Mohammed Attiyah representative of civil society
5- Dr Abdulaziz Abdulqader Al Mughaiseeb representative of civil society
6- Dr Ali Ahmed Al Kubaisi representative of civil society
7- Fawaz Bakhit Al Jatal representative of civil society
8- Amal Abdullatif Al Mannai representative of civil society
9- Sultan Mubarak Khamis Al Abdullah representative of civil society
10- Maryam Abdullah Ali Al Attiyah representative of civil society
11- Abdullah Saqr Al Mohannadi representative of the Ministry of Interior
12- Faisal Abdullah Al Hanzab representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
13- Salem Rashid Al Muraikhi representative of the Ministry of Justice
14- Mohamed Hassan Al Obaidli representative of the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs

The decision also provided that the Committee would select Chairman and Vice-Chairman from its members of representatives of civil society, and that the term of the Committee would be three years, renewable for another period or periods.

The decision is effective starting from the date of issue and is to be published in the official gazette.
