HH The Amir Arrives in Cooperative Republic of Guyana
His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani arrived in the capital Georgetown today on a state visit to the Cooperative Republic of Guyana.
HH The Amir was welcomed upon arrival at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport by HE Prime Minister of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana Mark Philips, HE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Hugh Todd, HE Senior Minister in the Office of the President with responsibility for Finance Dr. Ashni Kumar Singh, HE Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs Mohabir Anil Nandlall, HE Minister of Labour Joseph Hamilton, HE Minister of Natural Resources Vickram Bharrat, HE Minister of Housing and Water Collin Croal, HE Minister of Public Works Juan Edghill, HE Minister of Agriculture Zulfikar Mustapha, HE Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce Oneidge Walrond, HE Minister of Education Priya Manickchand, HE Minister of Public Service Sonia Parag, HE Minister of Amerindian Affairs Pauline Sukhai, HE Minister within the Ministry of Housing and Water Susan Rodrigues, Acting Charge d'Affaires in the Embassy of Qatar to the Cooperative Republic of Guyana Mohammed Ebrahim Al Rumaihi, HE Ambassador of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana to the State of Qatar Safraaz Ahmad Shadood, members of Qatar's diplomatic corps, and a number of senior officials.
HH The Amir was accorded an official reception ceremony on the occasion of his state visit.
The ceremony started with playing the Qatari and Guyanese national anthems. His Highness reviewed the guard of honor, which was accompanied by a 21-gun salute, and then shook hands with Their Excellencies members of the Guyanese official delegation and senior officials.
