HH The Amir and Prime Minister of Italy Hold Official Session of Talks

His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and HE Prime Minister of the Italian Republic Giorgia Meloni held an official session of talks at Villa Doria Pamphili, today in Rome.

At the outset of the session, HE the Prime Minister of the Italian Republic, welcomed HH The Amir and the accompanying delegation, hoping that the visit of His Highness would strengthen the relations between the two countries and promote them in wide-ranging fields.

For his part, HH The Amir thanked HE the Prime Minister of the Italian Republic for the warm reception, underlining that his looks forward to enhancing the solid relationship between the two countries in a variety of fields for the good of the two friendly countries.

During the session, they discussed prospects of bilateral cooperation between the two countries and avenues for bolstering them, especially in the areas of economy, investment, energy and defense, the foremost regional and global developments, particularly the situation in the Gaza Strip, the occupied Palestinian territories and Lebanon, in addition to stepping up efforts of de-escalation in the Middle East and reaching a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.

The session was attended by HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, HE Chief of the Amiri Diwan Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, HE Head of the State Security Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi, HE Minister of State for Energy Affairs Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, HE Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al-Thani, along with several high-ranking officials members of the official delegation accompanying HH The Amir.

On the Italian side, the session was attended by HE Minister of the Environment and Energy Security Gilberto Fratin, HE chief of staff at the prime minister's office Gaetano Caputi, HE Diplomatic Advisor to Prime Minister, Fabrizio Saggio, HE Military Adviser to the Prime Minister Franco Federici, alongside senior officials.

HH The Amir and HE Prime Minister of the Italian Republic held a bilateral meeting prior to these talks, during which they discussed their perspectives on a range of regional and global issues.
