HH The Amir and President of Kazakhstan Attend Signing of Agreements and Memoranda of Understanding

His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and HE President of the friendly Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev attended the signing ceremony of a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding between the two countries, at the Ak Orda Presidential Palace in the capital Astana this morning.

HH The Amir and HE the President of Kazakhstan attended the signing of a protocol on amendments to an agreement on the abolition of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and special passports, an agreement on the encouragement and reciprocal protection of investments, and a memorandum of understanding in the field of trade.

The two sides also witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement in the fields of higher education, graduate studies and sciences; the first executive program in the field of sports for the years 2023-2025; the executive program in the fields of culture and arts for the years 2023-2025; a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the fields of tourism and business events; a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the agricultural field, and a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of diplomatic training.

They also witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding in matters of joint cooperation in the field of health care; a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the fields of standardization, conformity assessment and metrology; a twinning agreement between the Doha Municipality and the Akimat of the city of Astana; a memorandum of understanding between Qatar University and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University; a memorandum of understanding between Hassad Food Company and the National Management Holding "Baiterek"; and a memorandum of understanding between Qatar Mining and the "Tau-Ken Samruk" company. In addition, a number of memoranda of understanding were signed between the private sector companies in the State of Qatar and the private sector companies in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The signing ceremony was attended by Their Excellencies members of the official delegation accompanying HH The Amir, and a number of Their Excellencies ministers and senior officials from Kazakhstan.
