HH The Amir and President of Mali Hold Official Talks
A session of official talks took place on Thursday at the Presidential Palace in Bamako, capital of Mali, between the State of Qatar, led by HH The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the Republic of Mali, led by HE President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita.
At the outset of the session, HE the President of Mali welcomed HH The Amir, expressing his thanks to him for accepting the invitation to visit the Republic of Mali and reaffirming that the visit will enhance ties between the two countries and achieve what the two friendly countries aspire to.
For his part, HH The Amir thanked HE the President and the Malian people for the hospitality that he and the accompanying delegation had received, noting that the visit comes as part of deepening the cooperation ties between the two countries on all areas.
The session reviewed means of boosting and developing bilateral ties, particularly in the fields of mutual cooperation.
The talks also tackled a number of issues at the regional and international levels, in addition to the cooperation between the two countries in combatting terrorism.
After the talks, HH The Amir and HE President of Mali witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of sport between the governments of the State of Qatar and the Republic of Mali, and a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in supporting education between Qatar Fund for Development and the government of the Republic of Mali.
Their Excellencies members of the official delegation accompanying HH The Amir attended the session and the signing ceremony, while a number of Their Excellencies ministers and senior officials were present from the Malian side.
