HH The Amir and President of Senegal Hold Session of Talks
His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and HE President of the Republic of Senegal, Macky Sall, held on Wednesday an official session of talks at the Presidential Palace in Dakar, capital of Senegal.
At the beginning of the session, HE the President of Senegal welcomed HH The Amir and the accompanying official delegation and thanked him for accepting the invitation to visit Senegal, stressing its importance in developing relations between the two countries in different fields. HE the President expressed his aspiration to encourage investments between the two countries in all fields, especially energy, economy and trade.
HE the President of Senegal stressed that Senegal is following the current Gulf crisis hoping it would be resolved through dialogue.
For his part, HH The Amir thanked HE the President and the Senegalese people for their hospitality, pointing out that relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Senegal are historic, stressing the importance of seeking to develop and strengthen them.
HH The Amir noted that the State of Qatar will develop its partnership with the Republic of Senegal in the fields of joint cooperation, including oil, gas and sport.
During the session, both sides discussed means of boosting bilateral relations and cooperation at various levels, particularly in the fields of investment, infrastructure, education and culture for the benefit of the two friendly countries and peoples.
The talks also dealt with a number of regional and international issues, notably developments in Jerusalem as well as the efforts of the two countries in combatting terrorism.

On the Senegalese side, HE Prime Minister of the Republic of Senegal, Mohammed Dionne, attended the session along with a number of Their Excellencies ministers and senior officials.
