HH The Amir Meets French President

His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and President Francois Hollande of the French Republic discussed this evening the developments in the Middle East, especially the war in Syria, and efforts to stop the bloodshed and the delivery humanitarian aid to besieged Syrian cities.

The two sides called for increased international support for international efforts to deter the regime and its cronies from committing more crimes, holding the Syrian regime responsible for the ongoing devastation and destruction, and reminding the international community at the same time of its responsibility towards these crimes, protection of the civilians, and the importance of holding accountable those responsible.

HH The Amir, and the French President also exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual interest at the regional and international levels.

The meeting, which was held at the Elysee Palace also dealt with bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and ways of enhancing them in various fields.

The meeting was attended by Their Excellencies members of the delegation accompanying HH The Amir. On the French side it was attended by a number of ministers.
