HH The Deputy Amir Chairs QU Board of Regents' Second Meeting

His Highness The Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, Chairman of Qatar University's Board of Regents, chaired the Board's second meeting for the 2018/2019 academic year, at the Amiri Diwan today.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Board reviewed what has been achieved of its decisions and recommendations taken in the first meeting for the 2018/2019 academic year.

The Board discussed a number of topics on the agenda and approved the establishment of the Faculty of Dentistry in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 and Qatar National Health Strategies 2011-2016 and 2018-2022, which recommended the creation of the educational and training capacity of dentists in Qatar to provide a sustainable workforce in this area.

The Board of Regents also approved a project to develop the Center for Human and Social Sciences, which is specialized in developing and employing scientific research projects for researchers at Qatar University and beyond, in line with the vision and mission of the university.
