HH The Amir Holds Phone Call with President of Afghanistan

His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani held a phone call with HE President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Dr. Ashraf Ghani, on Tuesday evening.

During the phone call which HH The Amir made to HE the Afghan President, they reviewed the bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them.

The two sides also discussed the latest developments in Afghanistan, especially with regard to the peace agreement signed recently in Doha between the United States and the Afghan Taliban movement. The Afghan President praised the efforts of the State of Qatar which contributed to reaching this historic agreement.

HH The Amir affirmed that the State of Qatar will continue to exert efforts that would help in conducting dialogue between the Afghan government and Taliban to reach another peace agreement between the two parties that would lead to achieving security and stability in Afghanistan.
