HH The Amir Meets Speaker and Members of Shura Council

His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met with HE Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim and Their Excellencies members of the Shura Council, on the occasion of the inauguration of the second ordinary session of the first legislative term, corresponding to Shura Council's 51st annual session, at the Council's headquarters this morning.

At the beginning of the meeting, HH The Amir welcomed HE Speaker of the Shura Council and the members, praising the efforts made by the Council in its previous session through the parliamentary tasks performed by the members locally and internationally. HH The Amir looked forward to the Council members continuing to carry out their legislative duties, and praised the contributions they make to enrich the national work, and their opinion in following up the government's performance and various development plans in the country.

For their part, HE Speaker of the Shura Council and Their Excellencies the members expressed their thanks and appreciation to HH The Amir for honoring the Council and inaugurating the 51st annual session, valuing the great support he provides to the Council. They stressed that HH The Amir's annual speech represents a road map for the Council's work and a guiding light for the State's internal and external policies, and an affirmation of the State's positions on various affairs and issues, in addition to charting the directions for the next phase and its strategic requirements.

HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani attended the meeting.
