HH The Deputy Amir Chairs Second Meeting of QU Board of Trustees
His Highness The Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, who is also the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Qatar University, presided over the second meeting of the Board of Trustees for the academic year (2017/2018), which was held at the Amiri Diwan on Monday morning.
At the outset of the meeting, the Board reviewed the implementation of its decisions and recommendations adopted during the first meeting of the academic year (2017-2018). The Board then discussed the topics listed on its agenda.
The Board approved the University Calendar for the next three years (2017/2018), (2018/2019), (2019/2020), as well as amendments to the organizational structure of Qatar University.
The Board also approved the introduction of a number of master's and doctorate programs as follows: Master's Program in Genetic Counseling, Master's Program in Religions and Dialogue of Civilizations, and the Joint Doctoral Program in Health Sciences (Biomedical Sciences, Medical Sciences or Pharmaceutical Sciences), and the Doctoral Program in Fiqh and Principles of Jurisprudence.
The Board approved the creation of three sections of the Faculty of Law: Private Law, General Law, and Legal Skills.
