HH The Amir Issues Law on Practicing Real Estate Brokering
His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani issued on Wednesday Law No. 22 of 2017, on the terms and conditions related to the licensing of practicing real estate brokering, the commitments of the real estate brokerages, disciplinary accountability rules, suspension and revocation of the license. The law included establishing a real estate brokerage committee at the Ministry of Justice to be formed by its council. One of its responsibilities will include looking into the complaints submitted by those affected by the department's decisions regarding real estate brokers.
The law will reconcile the conditions of the real estate brokers and offices, once the law is applied in compliance to its provisions, within a maximum period of six months from the date of its implementation.
A decision by the Minister of Justice may extend the grace period once, or several times.
The law is effective from its implementation and shall be published in the official gazette.
