HH The Amir Meets Members of U.S. Senate's Armed Services Committee

His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met on Wednesday with HE Chairman of the Armed Services Committee of the U.S. Senate Senator Jim Inhofe, and members of the committee Senator Jack Reed, Senator Mike Rounds, Senator Angus King, Senator Rick Scott, Senator David Perdue, Senator Marsha Blackburn, Senator Richard Blumenthal, at the headquarters of the U.S. Congress in Washington DC.

The meeting dealt with the strategic bilateral relations in the military, defense, and security fields.

The meeting also addressed the joint efforts of counter-terrorism and its financing. Members of the committee praised the role played by the State of Qatar in that regard, expressing their thanks to HH The Amir for Qatar's expansion of Al Udeid air base, as well as the country's hosting of more American forces.

The meeting also covered the latest regional and international developments.

It was attended by a number of Their Excellencies members of the official delegation accompanying HH The Amir.
