HH The Amir Speech at the Dinner Banquet by the President of India

In the name of God,

the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate

Your Excellency President Pranab Mukherjee,

Your Excellency Mr. Vice President,

Your Excellency the Prime Minister,

Excellencies,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

At the outset I would like to thank Your Excellency for your cordial sentiments and for the warm welcome and hospitality accorded to me and my accompanying delegation, and to express my pleasure at this visit to your friendly country which stresses our keenness and interest in enhancing the historical relations between our two countries.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

We are gratified by the constant development of the close relations between our two countries in various fields, especially in the scale of trade exchange and in the field of energy, culture, education, health, etc.

I am quite confident that these relations will continue to develop and grow further, particularly after signing more cooperation agreements between our two countries, and in the wake of the significant economic reforms introduced by your esteemed government which led to the improvement of investment climate in India, and which would contribute further to activating the aspects of cooperation between the two countries and to lay down the basis for a strategic partnership between them for the benefit of our two peoples.

I must express in this respect our appreciation of the role of the Indian community in Qatar and their contribution to the progress and economic development march of our country, and to welcome their role to pursue this march with us.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I would like to reiterate our keenness to strengthen the solid relations between our two countries and our commitment to secure the needs of India for energy sources.

We also look forward to strengthen the cooperation prospects and increase investments in India, especially in the fields of infrastructure, upgrading industry, energy, and other fields for the mutual interest of our two countries.

I thank you once again, wishing you success and further development and progress of your friendly people.
