HH The Amir Receives US Secretary of Defense

His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received on Thursday HE U.S. Secretary of Defense James Mattis and his accompanying delegation at Al Udeid Air Base.

The meeting discussed the means to strengthen and develop strategic defense partnership and cooperation ties between both countries in the military field. It also reviewed both countries' efforts in combating terrorism and extremism.

In addition, the meeting discussed the current regional situation and developments, notably the Gulf crisis.
