HH The Amir Holds Official Talks Session with Italian Prime Minister

His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and HE Prime Minister of the Italian Republic Giorgia Meloni held today at the Lusail Palace an official talks session that dealt with bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them in various fields, particularly in the areas of economy, investment, energy, and defense. 

During the session, they also discussed several regional and international issues of common interest, particularly developments in the Middle East region. 

HH The Amir, during the session, underscored the State of Qatar's keenness to elevate the distinguished relations between the two countries to broader horizons and develop bilateral cooperation in various areas, benefiting both friendly nations. 

On her part, the Prime Minister of the Italian Republic expressed her anticipation for strengthening the growing relations between the two countries and renewed her country's thanks to the State of Qatar for its medical assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic and its efforts in facilitating the evacuation of Italian citizens from Afghanistan. 

The official talks session was attended by HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, HE Chief of the Amiri Diwan Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, HE Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, HE Minister of State for Energy Affairs Eng. Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, HE Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al-Thani, and a number of Their Excellencies senior officials. 

The Italian delegation attending the session included HE Minister of Economy and Finance Giancarlo Giorgetti, HE Diplomatic Advisor to the Prime Minister Francesco Maria Talo, HE Military Adviser to the Prime Minister Gen. Franco Federici, HE the Italian G7 and G20 Sherpa Luca Ferrari, and several Their Excellencies members of the official delegation. 

HH The Amir hosted a dinner banquet in honor of HE the Prime Minister of Italy and the accompanying delegation.

Earlier, HE the Italian Prime Minister arrived at the Lusail Palace, where she was accorded an official reception ceremony.
