HH The Amir Receives Ministers Participating in Seventh General Conference of the Arab Union of Electricity
His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani received, on Sunday morning in his office at the Amiri Diwan, Their Excellencies the Ministers of Electricity and Energy from the sisterly Arab countries participating in the Seventh General Conference of the Arab Union of Electricity.
HH The Amir received with HRH Minister of Energy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, HE Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Oil, and Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy of the State of Kuwait Dr. Mohammad Abdullatif Al Fares, HE Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Dr. Saleh Ali Hamed Al Kharabsheh, HE Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy of the Arab Republic of Egypt Dr. Mohamed Shaker El Markabi, HE Minister of Energy and Oil of the Republic of Sudan Eng. Muhammad Abdullah Mahmoud, HE Chairman of the Palestinian Energy and Natural Resources Authority Eng. Zafer Melhem, HE Minister of Electricity and Energy of the Republic of Yemen Dr. Anwar Mohamed Kalashat, HE Minister of Energy and Water of the Republic of Lebanon Dr. Walid Fayad and HE Minister of Energy in charge of Natural Resources of the Republic of Djibouti Yonis Ali Guedi.
At the outset of the meeting, HH The Amir welcomed Their Excellencies the Arab Ministers, whishing them success in the conference, which would contribute to strengthening joint Arab cooperation in the fields of energy and electricity.
For their part, Their Excellencies the Ministers expressed their thanks and gratitude to HH The Amir for the warm reception, hospitality and for the support of the State of Qatar for the success of the conference.
A number of issues related to developing the electricity and energy sector were reviewed during the meeting.
