HH The Amir, British Prime Minister Discuss Bilateral Relations, Regional Situation
His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani discussed with HE the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson the strategic relations and means of boosting cooperation between the two countries in various fields for their mutual benefit.
In a meeting at the British Prime Minister's office in 10 Downing Street in London on Friday morning, they discussed several emerging issues in the Middle East, especially the developments in the Gulf.
At the beginning of the meeting, HE the British Prime Minister welcomed HH The Amir, pointing out that they are "old friends". HE the British Prime Minister noted that they met at the city hall when he was mayor of London and in Zurich when Qatar defeated England for the hosting of the 2022 World Cup. He congratulated Qatar on that achievement, stressing that the relationship between the State of Qatar and the United Kingdom is growing stronger and there are several landmarks in London attesting to this.
HH The Amir stressed the strength of the relations between the two countries, in addition to the strong personal relations between His Highness and HE the Prime Minister, pointing out that this meeting will contribute to strengthening these relations in several areas.
The members of the official delegation accompanying HH The Amir and senior officials of the British Prime Minister's office attended the meeting.
