HH The Amir Meets U.S. President in the White House
His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and HE President of the United States of America Donald Trump discussed the strong bilateral strategic cooperation relations between the two countries and ways of promoting and enhancing them in various fields.
The meeting, which was held in the White House on Tuesday, also discussed the most important developments at the regional and international levels.
At the outset of the meeting, HE the U.S. President welcomed HH The Amir, praising the strong and excellent relations between the two friendly countries, and his personal relationship with HH The Amir. HE the U.S. President underlined that HH The Amir is a real leader who is highly respected in an important part of the world, hailing Qatar's large investments in the United States and the huge agreements which will be signed later Tuesday in the fields of trade, investment and defense, in the presence of the two leaders.
HE the U.S. President highlighted the role of Al Udeid Air Base and its strategic importance in the Middle East, tapping it as one of the great military bases in the world.
For his part, HH The Amir thanked HE the U.S. President for the hospitality, and affirmed the strength of the relations between the two countries, pointing out to the agreements and memorandums of understanding which will be signed later in the framework of the economic partnership between Qatar and the United States.
HH The Amir noted in his remarks the current large investments in the United States, especially in infrastructure. HH The Amir explained that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries now exceeds $185 billion, noting the desire to multiply this figure for his confidence in the U.S. economy.
HH The Amir extended an invitation to the U.S President to visit the State of Qatar and Al Udeid Air Base, at the time that suits His Excellency.
HE the U.S. President thanked HH The Amir for the invitation, and praised the achievements made by the State of Qatar in Al Udeid Air Base and its important strategic location in the middle of the Middle East.
