HH The Amir Meets Chair and Members of U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations

His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met on Wednesday with Chair of the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations Senator James Risch and Vice Chair Senator Bob Menendez. Members of the committee Senator Mitt Romney, Senator Ted Cruz, Senator Lindsey Graham, Senator Rob Portman, Senator Marco Rubio, Senator Ben Cardin, Senator Jeanne Shaheen, Senator Tom Udall, Senator John Isakson, Senator Ron Johnson, Senator Tim Kaine, Senator John Barrasso, Senator Jeff Merkley, Senator Todd Young, Senator Edward Markey all attended the meeting at the headquarters of the U.S. Congress in Washington DC.

The meeting dealt with strategic bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them in different fields.

Members of the committee praised the strength of cooperation between the two countries, especially on the political and military fronts. They also praised the State of Qatar's expansion of Al Udeid Air Base and hosting of more American forces, expressing their thanks to HH The Amir for Qatar's efforts in that regard.

The meeting was attended by a number of Their Excellencies members of the official delegation accompanying HH The Amir.
