HH The Amir and Japan's Prime Minister Witness Signing of Joint Declaration and MoUs

His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and HE Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe attended on Tuesday the signing ceremony of a joint declaration and a number of memorandums of understanding (MOUs) between the governments of the two countries.

Both sides witnessed the signing of the joint declaration on the establishment of a strategic dialogue mechanism between the governments of the two countries aiming at strengthening the existing relations and encouraging continuous cooperation between the two countries in all fields.

HH The Amir and HE the Japanese Prime Minister also witnessed the signing of a memorandum of cooperation in the field of culture between the Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan aiming at enhancing the bilateral relations between the two countries and the cooperation in the field of culture, and promoting understanding and good relations between the peoples of the two countries, and a memorandum of understanding of economic, trade and technical cooperation between the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the two countries in order to strengthen the bonds of friendship in the fields of economic, trade and technical cooperation, and achieve mutual benefits for both parties.

They also witnessed the signing of MoU for cooperation in the field of transport between the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan in order to develop cooperation in the field of transport.

HH The Amir and HE the Japanese Prime Minister also witnessed the signing of the first executive program for the MoU of cooperation in the field of youth and sports between the Ministry of Culture and Sports in Qatar and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan with the aim of intensifying cooperation between the two countries through the actual programs for youth development through sports, as well as a memorandum of understanding in the field of legal and judicial administration between the Ministry of Justice of the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Justice of Japan, and a memorandum of understanding in the field of waste treatment between the Ministry of Municipality and Environment of the State of Qatar and the Ministry of the Environment of Japan.

The signing ceremony was attended by Their Excellencies members of the official delegation accompanying HH The Amir.

From the Japanese side, a number of Their Excellencies ministers and senior officials attended the ceremony.
