HH The Amir, President of Paraguay Hold Official Talks

The State of Qatar, chaired by His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the Republic of Paraguay, chaired by HE President Mario Abdo Benitez of the Republic of Paraguay, held this evening a session of official talks at the Presidential Palace in the capital Asuncion.

At the beginning of the meeting, HE the President of Paraguay welcomed HH The Amir and the accompanying delegation. HE expressed his pleasure at HH The Amir’s accepting the invitation to visit Paraguay, especially as it coincides with the 17th anniversary of the establishment of relations between the two countries, and looking forward to strengthening bilateral relations of friendship and cooperation in the coming years.

For his part, HH The Amir expressed his thanks to HE the President for the warm welcome and affirmed his keenness to strengthen relations with the Republic of Paraguay and develop them for the benefit of the two friendly countries and peoples.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the cooperation relations at various levels, especially in the economic, investment, trade and cultural areas, as well as the air transportation sector.

The talks also dealt with the latest developments on the regional and international arenas of common interest.

The meeting was attended by members of the official delegation accompanying HH The Amir.

On the Paraguay side, it was attended by HE the Vice President Hugo Velazquez, and a number of ministers and senior officials.
