HH The Amir and French President Discuss Means to Enhance Bilateral Cooperation
His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and HE President Manuel Macron of the French Republic, held a bilateral meeting today at the Élysée Palace.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed means of enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries and promoting it to the highest levels, especially in the areas of economy, trade, joint military and security defence, as well as cultural and scientific exchange, agriculture and environment, and mutual cooperation in sports activities in both countries, particularly the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar, and the 2024 Olympics in France.
The meeting discussed the efforts of the State of Qatar and the French Republic in the fight against terrorism and its financing in accordance with the letter of intent signed by the two countries in Doha in December last year and the establishment of a road map to coordinate their ongoing efforts in this field.
HH The Amir and HE the French President also discussed a number of emerging issues at the regional and international levels, especially the Gulf crisis, the humanitarian challenges and the security situation in Palestine, Syria, Libya and Yemen.
