HH The Amir and President of Colombia Attend Agreements and MoUs Signing
His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and President of the Republic of Colombia Juan Manuel Santos on Wednesday attended the signing of a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoUs) between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Colombia.
A memorandum of understanding on political consultations between the Foreign Ministry of the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Colombia was signed with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation through the establishment of a mechanism for political consultations.
The two leaders also attended the signing of an agreement on abolishing the visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, special and official passports, and an MoU on the exchange of expertise and cooperation in legal and judicial affairs between the Ministry of Justice of the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Justice and Law of the Republic of Colombia. This MoU aims to expand areas of cooperation between the two ministries to include legal and judicial affairs, and to promote the exchange of expertise and information as well as training.
HH The Amir and the Colombian President also attended the signing of an MoU between the Qatar Investment Authority and ProColombia on cooperation in the field of investment to enhance mutual cooperation through a variety of activities and exchange of information on investment opportunities in various sectors to promote investment between the two countries.
The signing ceremony was attended by Their Excellences members of the official delegation accompanying HH The Amir.
On the Colombian side, it was attended by a number of ministers.
