HH The Amir of Qatar Holds Talks with Kazakhstan President
A session of talks was held on Sunday at the presidential palace in Astana between HH The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
At the outset of the session President Nazarbayev welcomed HH The Amir and the accompanying delegation, expressing hope for higher level of relations between the two countries.
HH The Amir conveyed thanks to Kazakh President for his keenness on promoting the distinctive bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, saying that his visit will ushur an opportunity for exchanging views on issues of mutual concern, and stressing that the outcomes of the visit will contribute to boosting bilateral relation.
Talks during the session dealt with bilateral relations and ways to develop them in different fields in addition to a wide range of issues of common concern.
The session was attended by HH the special representative of HH The Amir, Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani and Their Excellences the members of accompanying official delegation.
HH The Amir and the President of Kazakhstan witnessed the signing of two agreements between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Kazakhstan, the first on avoidance of double taxation and prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income, and the second was struck between Qatar Mining and the National Mining Company Tau-Ken Samruk, in addition to a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) and Samruk Fund.
HH The Amir and President Nazarbayev held a meeting before the session, where they discussed cooperation relations and ways to develop them.
