Qatar, Poland Hold Official Talks

The State of Qatar and the Republic of Poland held on Friday a session of official talks at the Presidential Palace in Warsaw, chaired by HH The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and HE President Andrzej Duda of the Republic of Poland.

At the outset of the session, the Polish President welcomed HH The Amir, and praised the diplomatic relations, friendship and cooperation between the two countries that has continued for 28 years lauding, at the same time, this visit which is a significant new step on the way to develop the distinguished relations that benefit the two countries.

The Polish President stressed his keenness to develop the aspects of cooperation with the State of Qatar in various fields, especially economic, cultural, health and military, in addition to the aspiration of Poland to contribute through the Polish companies in the field of World Cup projects 2022.

For his part, HH The Amir expressed his appreciation to the Polish President and people for their warm and generous greetings accorded to His Highness and the accompanying delegation during the visit, which is an opportunity to discuss issues of mutual interest and means of boosting bilateral relations in all fields.

HH The Amir described the development and growth witnessed by the two countries' relations as a source of satisfaction, particularly in the economic sphere.

HH The Amir also affirmed that this visit and the agreements that will be signed will contribute to enhancing cooperation between the two countries and serve the common interests of the two friendly peoples. His Highness also extended an invitation to the Polish President to visit the State of Qatar.

During the session, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and prospects for their development and advancement to serve the common interests and take the relations between the two countries to a wider levels at all diplomatic, economic, cultural, health, education, military and tourism spheres.

Talks during the session also dealt with a number of regional developments and issues, especially the Palestinian and Syrian issues, on which the two countries' visions are consistent with regard to ensuring the restoration stability and security in the region.

The two sides also discussed the growing phenomenon of terrorism in the world and ways to solve and uproot the causes of this phenomenon, noting in this regard the importance for the international community to play its part in addressing it.

The session was attended by a number of ministers and senior officials from the Polish side.
